5G mobile network – effects of increasing radiation exposure
Zumikon, February 19, 2019 (Ambition AG) – The 5G mobile network is already the fifth generation and is expected to be introduced in Germany from 2020. The frequencies for the new mobile communications standard will be auctioned in spring 2019. Some are looking forward to extremely fast data transmission with 90 percent less power consumption and the technical possibilities offered by 5G. The new technology would then allow several people to enjoy a stable connection simultaneously, as 5G is said to be 100 times faster than a good LTE connection. Others are worried about the increasing radiation exposure the negative health consequences . Numerous studies have demonstrated the health risks posed by electromagnetic fields (EMF).
Harmful effects of RF-EMF exposure have already been proven
More than 230 scientists and doctors from over 40 countries have in December 2018 in an urgent appeal They have called for a moratorium on the rollout of 5G and warned against a rapid rollout of 5G. They argue that 5G will significantly increase exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) in addition to existing 2G, 3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi. Radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF) have been proven to be harmful to humans and the environment.
Negative effects on general human well-being, cellular stress, an increased risk of cancer, neurological disorders, genetic damage, an increase in harmful free radicals, and learning and memory deficits are among the consequences, as numerous recent scientific publications have shown. Wilfried Kühling, Professor of Spatial and Environmental Planning at the University of Halle-Wittenberg, says: " We know far too little about how radiation exposure for the population will increase under 5G." He calls for the auction of 5G frequencies to be suspended until the technology and its health effects have been better researched.
